Indicators

 

This section describes the front panel indicators.


IOCOMM Front Panel indicators.

 

The indicators provide status information.

The POWER indicator shows the unit is powered.

The NET indicator shows the unit is communicating on the LAN.

The Port A indicators show when port A is transmitting (Tx) or receiving (Rx) characters.

The Port B indicators show when port B is transmitting (Tx) or receiving (Rx) characters or frames.

The Serial port indicators show when ports 1-16 are transmitting (Tx) or receiving (Rx) characters.


Status Codes

The six leftmost indicators are used to show progress during the power-up sequence:

Power-up Progress indication.


If the unit stops during the power-up sequence, the state of the indicators (off, on or flashing) can help an Authorised Repair Centre to locate a possible fault. Refer to the table below:

Unit is not powered, or

Main processor and/or FLASH failure.

Power on, but bootstrap FLASH corrupt .

Processor dual port RAM failure.

5

 

Main RAM check in progress.

6

 

Main RAM check failed.

7

 

Main RAM check OK. Copying bootstrap to RAM.

Serial port A (console) checked.

9

 

Paused (awaiting test switch to be operated).

Checking standard ports 1 to 4.

Checking standard ports 5 to 8.

Checking standard ports 9 to 12.

Checking standard ports 13 to 16.

All serial ports OK. Initialising LAN interface.

LAN interface checked.

LAN probing in progress.

Decompressing main firmware.

Firmware checksum OK. Firmware started.
